Gongga Mountain, also called Minya Gongga, is located in the south of Kangding, Sichuan Province, is the main peak of the Big snow Mountain. There are 45 mountains with an elevation of more than 6 000 meters around, and the main peak stands at the top of the peaks, 7 556 meters above sea level, 6 000 meters above the Dadu River on its east side. The mountaineering death rate is far higher than 14 percent on Everest and 30 percent on K2, second only to Meili and Yarra.

It is one of the earliest areas of Marine glaciers in the world.
